Overview
Velocity ("we", "us", "our") is a product of ThinkVelocity. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have when you use the Velocity Chrome extension and the ThinkVelocity web platform (collectively, "the Service").
By using Velocity, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

What We Collect
a. Account Information
When you create a Velocity account, we collect:
- Your name and email address
- Your occupation (optional, used for personalization)
- Your preferred AI platform
b. Prompt Data
When you use Velocity to enhance a prompt, we collect:
- Your original prompt text
- The enhanced prompt we generate
- Metadata about the enhancement: domain, intent, mode used (Fast / Best / Media / Saver), AI platform targeted, token count, processing time
This data is stored in your Velocity account to power your prompt history, memory features, and personalization.
c. Context and Memory
Velocity's Context Engine processes conversations you've had on AI platforms (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, etc.) when you choose to sync them. From these conversations, we extract:
- A semantic "essence" summary of your activity and goals
- Your domain of work (e.g. software development, creative writing)
- Your intent patterns
This context is stored under your account and used to make future enhancements more relevant to you. You can view, edit, or delete your memories at any time from the Velocity side panel.
d. Voice Input
If you use the voice dictation feature, audio is captured through your microphone only when you explicitly click the mic button. Audio is:
- Transcribed in real time using Groq's Whisper API
- Never stored on disk or in your account
- Discarded immediately after transcription
No background audio recording occurs at any time.
e. Usage Data
We collect anonymous product analytics to understand how the Service is used. This includes:
- Which features you use (enhance, refine, voice, prompt library)
- Enhancement success and failure rates
- Session frequency and prompt counts
- Error logs for debugging
We use PostHog for product analytics. This data does not include the content of your prompts.
f. Payment Information
If you subscribe to Velocity Pro, payments are processed by third-party providers (Razorpay, PhonePe, PayPal, or Cashfree). We do not store your card number or payment credentials. We store your subscription status, plan, and transaction history.
g. Extension Permissions
The Velocity Chrome extension uses the following browser permissions:

| sidePanel | Powers the main Velocity workspace panel — never opens without a user action |
| offscreen | Enables microphone access for voice input in MV3 service workers — only active when you click the mic, closed immediately after |
The extension reads text content from supported AI platform pages (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and others listed at thinkvelocity.in) solely to detect input fields and inject enhanced prompts. We do not read, log, or transmit the content of your AI conversations unless you explicitly choose to sync context.
How We Use Your Data
We use the information we collect to:
- Operate and deliver the Velocity prompt enhancement service
- Personalize enhancement quality based on your history and preferences
- Maintain your prompt library, memory, and collections
- Process subscription payments and manage your account
- Send transactional emails (account verification, password reset, subscription receipts)
- Monitor service health and fix bugs
- Improve our AI models and prompting techniques using aggregated, anonymized data
We do not use your prompt content to train third-party AI models.
Data Retention

Your Rights
You can, at any time:
- •Access your prompt history and memories from the Velocity panel
- •Edit or delete individual memories from the Memory section
- •Export your prompt history (contact us at privacy@thinkvelocity.in)
- •Delete your account — this removes all personal data within 30 days
- •Opt out of usage analytics by contacting us
If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have additional rights under GDPR, including the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.
Security
We protect your data using:
- HTTPS encryption for all data in transit
- AES-256 encryption for backups
- JWT tokens with short expiry for authentication
- AWS Secrets Manager for credential storage (no plaintext secrets in code or logs)
- Per-service database access controls (least privilege)
No system is perfectly secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at security@thinkvelocity.in.
Children
Velocity is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware we have done so, we will delete it promptly.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the Service evolves. We will notify you of material changes via email or an in-product notice. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects when changes were last made.
